I have found the culprit of all my problems in my post #511 (above). All along, my gut feelings were telling me it could be a compatibility issue since no one in this forum has mentioned these kinds of problems I was facing. And I was right on target. The problem was caused by a little app by Stardock called WindowBlinds. After uninstalling it, all the bugs vanished away and I was back to normal.

I think that can help anyone facing the same issues and who uses this same little app.

You are 100% right. I had not even read your post yet, and I found out that Windowblinds from Stardock was the culprit—Take a look at my post #674. In any case, thanks a lot for your post.

I went back to 1803 and am not looking forward.

The 'Brightness' issue is the only real anomaly I've encountered. Just now and I noticed it was showing back at 50% in action centre and settings however the screen did not look over bright (my preferred setting is 36%). Opening Settings and moving the cursor downward from 50% actually brightened the screen considerably... so it was still actually running 36% but reporting 50%. That I think will get sorted in a CU at some point.

Other than that and my first impression remains in that for me at least, this is one of the best releases to date and has caused the least problems.

1803 when released would not allow the legacy .net2 framework to be applied in 'Programs and Features' which was a fairly catastrophic failure for applications that rely on it. 1803 just never seemed quite right somehow, both in deployment and day to day use.

So does 1809 allow .NET2 framework now? Thanks.
