Incidentally though users should always move documents / downloaded files / pictures to their own data areas (preferably not on the OS drive) because restoring a system or re-installing a system will re-create these files and your latest data can be lost / overwritten quite legitimately.

I've kept my data on an external drive for years, Jimbo. I now have it on an internal hard drive, and will soon put it on OneDrive to be certain everything's safe.

Agreed, but as we all know, there are so many options that John Q. Public doesn't normally have the knowledge to make his/her files safe.

Unless I'm reading your picture wrong, you're trying to install on a USB Flash Drive.

In fact, how many Desktops will have that extra internal hard drive (very few, if any), and does John Q. Public know or understand what an external hard drive is? Does he/she even know how to add an internal hard drive?

Seems to me that both Microsoft and OEMs have just received their wakeup call . . . Are they gonna listen to or ignore it?
