I still have a copy of MCT 1809 and I ran it just to see. Msg said "Download the latest version, a newer version of this tool is available.....Download the updated MCT" which turned out to be 1803. Here is what the version number I had for the 1809 MCT

Then I was damned lucky to download the .iso file when it was available. Dug me out of a hole at the time.

I used the media creation tool to get my ISO. The upgrade took a painful two hours, but I did end up with 17763.1. What I'm suddenly getting is all these User Profile Service errors.

During installation (upgrade) I got "Page fault in non-paged area" and I needed to do a manual reboot to finish the installation. Now most of the time when I reboot I get the same error. Never happened before the upgrade.

You sure they're safe to use? Don't you think MS pulled the current ones for some good reason? Personally I'm going to download a new ISO if and when MS make it available again, just to be safe.

I will as well. I would also like to hear why it was pulled and what is fixed.

Working fine here!! Sticking with Windows Defender though on the Laptop and Desktop main PC's for now, don't think time to reinstall Avast Free as yet as i don't know why offically pulled yet, No files deleted though, so just enjoys Windows 10 1809, updates it when updates come out and hopefully all good.

Will Remake the Flash drive though when NEW ISO out though

Honestly, I do not care. All my devices and virtual machines are running latest Insider build 18252.

I only needed the "base" version for each edition and language version, in this case version 1809 build 17763 to do the initial deployment image, which when deployed to computers and virtual machines I then directly upgrade to Insider build.

Clean installing / deploying an Insider build does the WinRE / OEM partition wrong, resulting the final installation missing some recovery options. Doing it in my way, not clean installing Insider build but instead clean installing official release, then directly upgrading it to Insider build is the best (and only) workaround I have found.

Short version: all devices and virtual machines already beyond 1809. No worries!
