just let my lenovo x300 upgrade to 1809 a couple hours ago and so far seems to be ok. it will be interesting to see if anything breaks during the day or not.... kinda expecting it too.....
Make sure you check if the System Protection has been turned off or not.
Suggest you create a new restore point manually. All previous restore points should have been removed by 1809.

Just had 2 neighbors with new laptops, one is Lenovo and it's extremely crappifyed. Between windows and Lenovo specific programs + McAfee I emptied almost 25GB from disk. Had to leave some MS games for her kid.

I think I'll wait a bit with updating until MS fixes the relevant bugs.

I noticed that 1803 had quite some visual bugs, and I'm really curious if these are fixed in the 1809 build:

It's pretty well a given that they will do this, but once again they striped out my Windows 7 games for Windows 10 during the upgrade. The original solitaire etc. On the plus side at least you don't have to go hunt up a new version with each new build. For a while there they would do something so you couldn't reinstall what worked in the prevous build. Still very annoying that they do this. Just give it up already and let us play cards the way we want.

The Open File - Security Warning is appeared, but during 1803 or before don't have this popped out. Anyone?

Why not install and see how it behaves on YOUR system? The experience of others won't necessarily be your experience; if you don't like it you can simply revert to your previous installation.

It's very snappy on my system and, aside from removing my Win7 games, everything, so far, works as expected.

I'm a bit puzzled by those who say installation took around 10 mins on their systems - mine took at least an hour - I suspect those installations must have been botched in some way

The WMP issue on first launch seems to be resolved by resetting the application from windows apps and features menu but comes back as soon as i reconfigure the file sharing to be enabled (might be because of an additional Windows 7 machine on the network).

Can anyone confirm the below additional doubts:

    1. Game bar does not show the traditional tips when launching a game (it works fine, just no splash tip on game launch) about the shortcut keys that can be used in order to perform certain actions.
    2. The task manager grouping grey icon is blinking when there is a service under a processes that can be expanded but not blinking when there are actual process under that group.
Found something about this here so might be a known issue:

Microsoft releases Windows 10 19H1 Build 18252 to the Skip Ahead and Fast rings

    • Fixed the issue where the arrows to expand "Background processes" in Task Manager blink constantly and weirdly.

    Thanks.

Because I don't want to go through the hassle of installing and reverting back if I'd be experiencing significant problems with this relatively new version? Plus I only always clean install new builds to minimize the risk of problems, which takes quite some time until put all my settings back.

In that case, I don't find it a problem to ask about bugs to others that are willing to install and use the update for now. My mentioned visual bugs are apparently reproducable for a lot of people on 1803, hence me wondering about it.
