    Hi folks

Wintousb users (creating a "Windows to Go") doesn't work on this release - you can't create via the iso or clone an existing (installed) system. Macrium which used to be able to fix windows boot problems doesn't help either in this release.

in release 1803 wintousb works just fine.

    Cheers

Was getting weird issue with screen brightness getting changed to lower setting on startup and after restarts. Also in general everything seems a little darker. I use the windows 10 theme and it now makes my firefox title bar a very dark blue and menu bar writing white. Decided to go back down to 1803 - hail macrium. Think I'll stay there for now and hide 1809 when it comes up at least on my laptop.
I've just experienced something like this. I have a Dell laptop with Intel graphics and use (install) Dells own 'Quickset'. I see that brightness settings have disappeared from Windows 'Power Plans' in 1809. Previously I could set normal brightness and a minimised brightness and I used to use 36% and 30% for these.

Those options are no longer present and so I minimised the brightness during initial install and then set to 36% using Quickset. All is OK until the display times out (set to 10 minutes) and then I notice things seem darker when I return. Quickset shows brightness has been 'reset' to 50% but screen is still darker than it should be. A restart returns normal expected settings and results.

And probably never will as it's slated to be replaced by Settings. Many other old dialogs and apps don't have it either. as each one has to be coded differently.

I have noticed all three pcs I have updated now have boot file compacted (compactos:always). I wonder why is this. I prefer not to use any compression at all. It adds 8 seconds+ to my boot time (measured with bootracer).

@tomseys -- brightness resetting has been reported although Microsoft has not yet acknowledged it's a problem. I don't have this issue but my neighbor does.

    Thanks Crizal.

As I mentioned, regarding that other issue, I use the Windows 10 background and I let it choose a color from the background. In 1803, it makes for a nice blue and black lettering with the menu bar on Firefox in the title bar area.

    Firefox title bar:

In 1809, this same exact setting makes this happen:

I don't like that color on top. If I try and set a different color to make it lighter via personalization it upsets colors in other areas like the start menu - too light etc. I can make FF use the lighter theme but I don't like it so light like that. I suppose I could explore a userchrome solution but I'm just not feeling like it.

I went back to 1803 and its fine of course. I'm actually pretty happy with 1803 as it works perfectly so I think I'm going to just stay there for as long as I can.
