It would be nice if users had a choice to uninstall the app crap.

You can, just go into setting and them apps. There is an uninstall for some of them like Candy Crunch and such.

    @Stitch194 I'm sure you've seen this tutorial.

    Uninstall Apps in Windows 10

Note the Tip in the opening section. Doesn't help with clean installs but if you are doing upgrades.

IMHO this is by far the best version yet. I really like the dark Windows Explorer look or theme.
How do I get that theme?

Doesn't matter if you use the {} or not, but yes I did search with/without the {} and it does find it on both my PC's in approx 5 places in the CLSIDS and those two registry locations in my post. If you're not finding it, especially at the 2 registry locations in my post (TDL Key), then I bet you're not seeing the Event ID 1534 - User Profile Service Warning.

The TileData Model Service has been removed in 1809 and it would appear not everything got cleaned up in the registry ... at least on my PC's ... lol

Yep, but using one of those two programs ... you don't have to do the ole two step permission shuffle in the registry and I should have been more clear that you can either use one those programs or change permissions in the registry :)
im the one who originally found the reason for the event viewer spam :P

i just hadn't gone to the trouble of searching out the profile notification cause because i expected microsoft to fix it in a day 1 cumulative patch

imo, all those classid's are removable too.

your method worked on my vm and on the single physical machine i have it on so far.

I'd have been surprised if MS released a fix just for that in a day 1 CU, heck I'll be surprised if they fix it on Patch Tuesday ... lol

Yep, I agree that all those CLSIDS can be be deleted. I just haven't done it yet, as they aren't hurting anything.

Glad to hear fix worked for you :)

After this 1809 update my memorv usage has gone up from 7% at system start up, to 21% idle. LatencyMon crashes if you stop it then start it again without closing it first. Game bar won't launch after I click on it. If you run the Automatic maintenance service it never finishes and stays running until you manually stop it.

If you check for Windows updates afterwards (from running the Automatic maintenance service) it will infinitely check for updates leaving you no choice but to restart your PC.

Programs have to be terminated when shutting down sometimes unless you edit your registry to auto-end tasks at shutdown.

I just got the 1809 update on my laptop. It fixed my fingerprint scanner issue and the new dark theme for File Explorer is awesome. I am having an issue though, the Store app won't open anymore. It says to check my internet connection and gives me the error code: 0x80072EFD. Is anyone else having this issue?
