I have downloaded update three times twice from update once from Microsoft each time when it said restart and I restarted it says undoing changes made to your computer it then goes back to my startup page with no changes to my computer what is the problem
Make or download an ISO, mount it and try from there.

Appreciate all the responses, and thanks for your time. I'm, however, already aware of ISO sizes, and was really directing the question at Windows Update - which is supposed to be optimized for using much smaller file sizes. Perhaps, because it would require active monitoring of bandwidth usage, it's a bit too much to ask.

Check to see if you have enough storage space. As @CountMike stated above you need more than 3.849GB of space. MS won't do it for you. Did you get any kind of message relating to what could be the reason?

I am downloading the FU right now on my second machine. It is at 68%

    Updated ...

After updating to 1809 on both PC's using MCT, I got a bunch of those Event ID 1534 - User Profile Service Warnings and a few reboots didn't resolve the issue. Before I did the following, I checked my Insider Preview (1809-17763.1) at the following two registry locations and the TDL key didn't exist. I also searched the registry for B31118B2-1F49-48E5-B6F5-BC21CAEC56FB and didn't find it.

I'm NOT recommending this ... Do at our own risk ... it's just what I did to get rid of the User Profile Service Warning !!!

    1. Open Regedit and navigate to the following two keys
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileNotification\
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileNotification
    2. Under ProfileNotification check if you have the TDL key
    3. Export the TDL key at each location
    4. Delete the TDL key at each location
    5. Reboot PC to verify

    Note:
    1. I did NOT delete B31118B2-1F49-48E5-B6F5-BC21CAEC56FB key that I found in a couple places in the registry under CLSIDS.
    2. You'll need take ownership of the TDL Key to be able to delete it ... You can also use PowerRun or ExecTi so you can run Regedit as TrustedInstaller which will allow you to delete the TDL key without messing with registry permissions, just be careful !!!
PowerRun v1.3 (Run with highest privileges)
    ExecTI

Space required is way more than the ~4GB size of an ISO.

WU won't differentiate on upgrades as it's a full OS.. it only uses UUP to determine differences in updates on the same build to down the appropriate delta files..

It's because it also has to make windows.old and put all files needed to be kept before any changes are made + content of ISO which is actually smaller than when mounted. Usually about the size of your Windows folder and then some. After upgrade, the amount disk cleanup estimates to be able to clean is about the minimum size of free space needed. My usually ends up 27 - 30 GB.
