For those with My Visual Studio Subscriptions (formally MSDN) MVP's etc. The 1809 ISO's are now up for download.

    Hi folks

anybody who has Sound / video problems -- go into control panel (it's still there -- just type control panel from the windows logo) -->device manager - scan down the list and for video / sound right mouse click -->update driver -->let windows search the net and you'll find it works -- I got a better video intel HD driver than the original one when I installed windows.

    Cheers

    Didnt work for me, the info box for the driver says;

    Device HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_1102&DEV_0011&SUBSYS_11020051&REV_1009\5&12a16c01&0&0101 requires further installation.

    What went wrong?

My 1GB atom tablet with 32GB drive updated smooothly in the first go, and all drivers are working etc. :- D.
My 2GB atom tablet with 64GB drive updated faster than the other laptops & desktops all with SSDs.
Maybe because the tablet is 32-bit Windows?

Alright, Windows has been annoyingly nagging to upgrade on 2 computers the whole day, so I guess it's time to click the restart button.

Wonder what will brake this time. Expecting the worse and hoping for the best.
I had similar upgrade with one laptop. Has two drives - both finally updated but had to restart one drive after about an hour at 100% download and nothing more. After restart at one point it went to second drive, and I thought 'oh shucks' but it finally restarted on its own and went to first drive and completed. The second drive completed earlier. All other computers are completed but haven't examined them for any potential problems.

Two physical machines upgraded without any issues. No visually identifiable defects so far.

I had this issue before, 10 installed the latest driver, which did not work (I assume, that both devices have to use the same driver, just like with APU). Installing Creative did nothing, since an older driver can not overwrite the newer one (mine is 6.0.102.50, Windows has 6.0.105.17). Try to uninstall it and also select to delete drivers for both, the sound card and audio controller, restart and install Creative. Good luck.
hmm Ill have to try uninstalling it after work.

Do any of you guys check for 1809 compatible manufacturer's drivers first before updating Windows with the October update?
I understand that Windows installs the necessary drivers by itself but isn't it better to wait for the manufacturer of the device to release their own drivers?

I doubt that any manufacturers would already have drivers just for this version. It's actually quite rare they make or release drivers for particular windows build.

Manufacturers release their drives to MS first for WHQL testing, before releasing them to public.

You can check for the latest drivers here: Microsoft Update Catalog
