I updated a 32GB eMMC netbook to 1809 by mistake when I did a WU check. I had to use a 3.0 flash drive to complete the feature update. Took over 2 hours. I usually have 7GB space available best case on netbook normally but now after cleanup have 10GB + so that is nice. Netbook seems fine. Don't like the direction snipping tool is going - hope it will still remain available in the future like paint and windows photo viewer. Tried a Windows Update on my main laptop but it is not offering me 1809 at the moment.

Added: I ran an SFC scan on the netbook and it found corrupt files and successfully repaired them. Second SFC scan showed no integrity violations.

Just completed the upgrade to 1809. Used the MCT and the in-place upgrade option. Took about 1-1/2 hours to complete. Classic Shell still there, and now I finally have my dark themed File Explorer. All in all a pleasant experience.

All 3 machines updated, no problems what so ever, and all my old settings were respected.
All I needed to do was go through everything and set the new stuff up, like Edges video autoplay to limited, the new snipping tool save to clipboard in cloud and so on.
Does that mean the upgrades are getting better?

    Yep!

I just did my cleanups and ran a batch file I have for after upgrades(not updates, just upgrades), so Windows can check everything, including the hardware, and did my images in Macrium Reflect.

    I am now officially done.

3 machines in 3 hours, upgrades, settings checks, cleanups, testing and images.

I have never been done so fast.

I'm a Windows 10 Luddite and not so eager. I've deferred the update for 3 months to let the rest of you be guinea pigs until the bugs are sorted!

Just tried the MCT (new copy, referred to 1809 in downloading it) - the iso delivered is 10.0.16299.15 (1709).
(Checked the iso with See Full Details about a Windows 10 ISO file | Windows 10 Tutorials )

Does that mean MS's AI concludes it can't upgrade my PC? (I'm currently on 1709).

Or is it reflecting the fact I've upgrades deferred?

Hi dalchina, I downloaded 1803 (weeks ago) using the media creation tool while using 1709 with deferred updates, so, unless something changed (who knows?), deferring upgrades should not prevent you from downloading current iso.
