Which manual adjustment was made?
Keyboard?
Settings?
This worked on an HP notebook:
In the left lower corner type: settings > open settings trusted Microsoft store app > click system > Display > brightness > change brightness > move scroll bar to preferred brightness
That kinda doesn't help. I want to know if it's been pulled only from automatic updates, or also from manual updates too. So I can know if it's safe to manually check for updates so I can get this month's cumulative update without getting trojaned by the 1809 downloader. I'm running Home here so it's not exactly easy for me to pick and choose my updates.
Tomseys,
Update the display driver:

It's been pulled apparently but it will come back. So it's possible you will get it yes on checking for updates. Read that stuff to learn how to avoid it if that is what you want which may include things like setting your internet connection to metered or using the show and hide tool to hide 1809. Depends on your Windows 10 version (home, pro etc) as far as all of the things you can do but see the articles.
Thank you, that's all I needed to know. I can rest a bit easier knowing I won't get spiked by the update when I go to manually get the upcoming CU because I'm sick of it getting sprung on me while I'm doing something.
I know it will come back eventually, that's how it goes. I'm just exceedingly anxiety-riddled with all the shit going on with these dumb feature updates and to calm down I needed to know if I'll get slapped with it when I check for the monthly updating this coming Tuesday.
