    Well, I don't have that. I'm certain!
Then all you have to work with is grpedit. Do you remember how you disabled them the last time?

    That's worse than I thought!

Maybe One Drive related as I disabled it here as an unwanted annoyance and the small amount of unimportant documents I actually have in Microsoft's folders on the three PC's I updated remained intact, anything important is on different drives and backed up twice on external drives, as are the system drives as well, so wouldn't have been much of an issue here anyway.

Going to be many though that won't even know what a backup is, if nothing else it may encourage those affected to find out how to backup stuff properly.
That I wouldn't believe if it happened to me !!! If it wasn't connected in some way, windows wouldn't even know about it's existence in another disk/partition.

So far it appears that if you survived the upgrade intact you are OK.
Don't know how, but I updated both machines and am operating like a well oiled Marine. My natural paranoia is nagging on me bad about it though. What if Ö

At least I have Macrium with 1803 latest, for both setups if the "What if Ö" does blow up in my face, circle around and bite me in my rear.

Windows support has a solution: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...-after-upgrade
If you still canít find your files, you may need to restore them from a backup

After a failed WU on Thursday, I used MCT on Friday (05/Oct) and my version is 1809 (17763.1) with none of the problems reported by many on here or elsewhere on the interweb, Edge works fine as does my sound and also no loss of files & folders. I guess I will stick to using MCT in the future.

    Info:

If you have files in your Docs folder still, none were deleted.
