If people aren't backing up their systems, sorry to say this, but they're idiots.
It is not an easy task to backup several TB of data like photos and videos, even when you know, what you are doing. I had to use TeamViewer to backup 250GB, because I did not have an external drive, it took me 3 days.

So does 1809 allow .NET2 framework now? Thanks.
This is what I have, at least on this Dell Vostro 1510 Notebook, haven't needed to check other machines yet:

At very least, valuable personal stuff shouldn't be kept on same disk or partition as OS. I don't know why MS have chosen such unfortunate place as User folder. This last problem is but a small sample of what can happen to personal files in most vulnerable place. OS crashing and having to be replaced or disk corruption or even it dyeing is even more of a treat to them.

Wonder if the files were actually deleted or perhaps put somewhere else? No problems here and all backed up before upgrading anyway.

I updated to 1809 3 days ago, using the Windows Update Assistant.

However, I moved all my User Library Folders to a different physical drive.
Therefore, I didn't lose any data, as was described/reported.

Also, I haven't experienced any unusual CPU usage and things seem stable.
I have backups of the previous 1803 build and can, if need be, do a system image restoration.
    Just FYI everyone:

It doesn't seem to matter if your personal files are on your OS drive, or a secondary drive, or another partition....or even if they are stored on another drive *without* pointing to them with the OS - people have lost their files in all these situations.

Windows 1809 update wiped my documents : Windows10

Some are saying it may have something to do with OneDrive, but nothing sure.

I got 1809 update a couple of days ago. It changed my screen resolution to something not supported by my monitor giving "out of range" error. Took me about 4 hours to recover. Not noticed any missing files. Am I still at risk?
