Why do they make this so panful? I went to do a clean install of Education on my spare desktop PC. It will not accept my Microsoft ID, it wants your Business or School account info, your Office365 email address subscription info etc. So I go to do a local account. Now I have to answer 3 security questions, wtf? Starts over from scratch to install another edition.![]()
Hi,
Yep more hoops to jump through lol
Never really happy with password must try a pin number too then one can forget two steps
Three secrete questions is one I wasn't all that happy with but different question same silly answer to them all is all I do which is unrelated to any of the questions![]()
Any other time I'd just use my Microsoft ID account info, Education Edition won't let you do that for initial setup, which IMHO is pretty lame. Once I log in with the local I can switch to a Microsoft Account with no issues.
I should have just answered the questions but I'm in a bit of a foul mode today. My chronic pain has spiked a bit high today and made me a bit cranky.
@alphanumeric, it asks you to set up the three security questions in order to help you get in if you forget your password. I'm not sure when this was introduced, but a clean install of 1803 will do exactly the same thing.
The way to avoid it is to not have a password to forget in the first place. Set a blank password when asked to set up the first local account, then if you want a password set it after logging in for the first time.
Hi,
The answers don't have to be anything related to the questions :)
