You may need to find a way to stop Windows upgrading... (one way is to stop Windows updates completely - simply search the forum for "stop windows updates completely" - there's a tool for that).
Others may have more ideas...
Just checked and System Restore was on. I'm sure I checked yesterday and it was off. It's off now lets see what happens.
I've set my ethernet connection to metered which I believe will stop the feature update from being downloaded. I also have the show hide tool ready to hide it, once it finds it. After I hide it then I will turn off the metered setting since I still want to get other updates. I've been looking at the block update apps. Going to see if there is anything helpful.
It's basically cripled my main desktop PC. I did the upgrade from Windows update last night. Lots of lag opening Apps, programs, web sites, just about everything. Outlook only launches about every second time. When it won't launch I have to reboot to get it to work. Just tried to make an install thumb drive with the MCT and it errored out during the creation phase. I have my My Visual Studio ISO's so I'll use one of those and do a clean install when I get a chance. I was going to do it anyway, just hadn't planed on doing it today.
Interesting little glitch with Windows Defender and 1809. When WD definitions are updated, either manually or automatically, the time of the last update shown under Virus & Threat Protection is always exactly 4 hours earlier than my current time. If the update comes down through Windows Update, WU does show the correct time for the update but WD still shows the 4 hours earlier. FWIW -- when WD runs a scan, the time for that is correct.
Hi,
I think MS believes everyone lives in the pacific time zone lol![]()
Weird: the Store tab for "devices" is in Russian/Cyrillic for me.
