Windows 10 October 2018 Update rollout now paused
-
Was getting weird issue with screen brightness getting changed to lower setting on startup and after restarts. Also in general everything seems a little darker. I use the windows 10 theme and it now makes my firefox title bar a very dark blue and menu bar writing white. Decided to go back down to 1803 - hail macrium. Think I'll stay there for now and hide 1809 when it comes up at least on my laptop.

I'm a Windows 10 Luddite and not so eager. I've deferred the update for 3 months to let the rest of you be guinea pigs until the bugs are sorted!
Windows 10 bugs don;t get sorted. They get replaced by new ones.

Updating Windows 10 Enterprise

Since the update, Windows Media Player auto closes on first launch (2nd launch is ok), error can be viewed on windows logs.
Anyone else?

All good now, after using the Update Assistant the screen flicker problem disappeared

I just got the 1809 update on my laptop. It fixed my fingerprint scanner issue and the new dark theme for File Explorer is awesome. I am having an issue though, the Store app won't open anymore. It says to check my internet connection and gives me the error code: 0x80072EFD. Is anyone else having this issue?
enable ip helper service and check the ipv6 item in the adapter properties.

Clean installed yesterday. All good so far and pleased to see the final installation is more than a little lighter in size than 1803 ended up.
Notepad seems different with its lines and columns info at the bottom. Defender still doesn't update following an initial clean install, its quite happy to sit there with its 1601 (or something like that) update status and August definitions until you manually kick it off.
Quite liking the dark background although my previous bold font size (Shawns registry hacks) is a little to bold, might revert bold to standard for explorer and see if it is better.
What else. Well I haven't noticed Edge do its double line spacing gaff when typing on certain forums. Good to have that bug fixed. Snip and Sketch ! The Sniping Tool is something I use every day, time and again and so I thought I'd try the new offering. Basically OK but disappointed to see there is no option to save as anything but .png Unless something is different I found png's could be much to large a file size in native 'Sniping Tool' form to be used on many forums. Will have to see how this new one goes.
Currently I'm going to say that this is how 1803 should have been from the start.
Also wondering if MS have abandoned the quantum mechanics tie up with W10 You know, the one where the fan is running and you wonder what the heck its doing. You open task manager and the CPU falls to 1%, fan stops. Time after time after time. It always seemed to know when it was being watched No such behaviour now. Three different tabs open, typing away here, all cool and quiet.

Go back to previous build, then update using Microsoft Update Assistant, it may help.
