Windows 10 October 2018 Update rollout now paused

@Robbie
I would open a new thread with issue.
This does not sound like a Windows issue. Not saying it isn't a Windows issue but the update does not change info on the google servers.
You may wish to clear your browsing data as that may have become corrupt.
A quick test would be to access through FF or Edge.

Is this coincident, after upgrading to 1809 I lost all my Google contacts ??
-----------------------------------------
Maybe not. When my wife's machine upgraded to the last several she lost Hundreds of photo, deleted without warning. I did not want to report because, like in real life, she or I would not be believed. But fortunately she had a backup of most - which actually proves the deletion occurred and without warning. Microsoft, naturally, still operates in the way old school software giants of yore opeated - using FUD, or as I say, the Mushroom theory (keep them in the dark and feed them s..t)

Make or download an ISO, mount it and try from there.
This method of updating has NEVER FAILED for me. Good advice.

Oh wait, during install my PC froze up (black screen with white spinning circles) and no HDD activity. Pushed the reset button and the install went happily on...
Anyone else got that too?

My update clean up folder is empty so that is not the problem or space usually when I do an update it does it without any problems
What size is your hard drive? From my experience on both real and virtual drives, windows.old size varies, for the most part, with the size of your primary drive. But this is far from certain. Many times I could correct but it is a PITA (pain in the a.s)

Back to 1809 disk usage: I'm just running Disk Clean utility, post 1809 update. The reported size of "Previous Windows Installations for deleting was 26.3 GB. Disk size as found before using disk clean utility was 51.5GB as left 30.4 GB. That's what I like to see, lean and mean

You sound like a happy updater!

Update popped up after manually searching for updates on two desktops here. Installation was smooth (20 - 30 mins, starting the count from finished download). Will report problems as I invariably will encounter

One poorly implemented feature is skip&sketch. It seems it is by default installing an earlier version ie one without delay actions and if you go to Store to update, it seems you are up to date.
Only those who were on this build as an Insider have the latest version with delay.
Way to go MS - release a new tool with a critical part missing - how to win friends and influence people!!
PS I have checked a clean non insider install, and indeed it is an old version!
No wonder people are complaining!!!!
Interesting. I seem to be having the same problem with MS Sticky Notes. I have 4 computers - 1 Win 10 Pro & 3 Win 10 Home. All 4 were upgraded to 1809 yesterday. One of my Win 10 Home machines actually got the update to Sticky Notes version 3 before the upgrade, and I expected the other 3 to receive the new Sticky Notes after upgrading to 1809, but nada.... I have tried manually checking for app updates in the Store, and have received updates for other apps, but nothing for Sticky Notes. Since Sticky Notes do not have an option to uninstall, I tried resetting the app in settings, but all that did was re-download the same out-of-date version 2.1.18.0 version.
I'm not sure if I have the latest Snip & Sketch... My version 10.1806.2112.0. Is that the latest?
Anyone else still stuck on old Sticky Notes?

Re System Restore being turned off - my experience has definitely been inconsistent. I upgraded 4 computers yesterday, all via WU. On 2 computers System Restore remained enabled, but I had to re-enable it on the others. Wouldn't have remembered to check that if not for this forum, so thank-you!
