What will Microsoft call the re-release? The October-ish update?

Yup. Tomorrow's November 1 already. I said last week that the re-release probably wouldn't happen in October, and considering we're only (central time) four hours and thirty-six minutes from midnight (07:24 PM CDT) and the beginning of November, it looks like it won't.

I wonder if they screwed things up more while trying to fix their original screw ups, and now they're fixing those screw ups too.

That could be. Could very well be.

I think they (MS) are being very careful to be sure the problem they pulled 1809 for is fixed and no other major break is introduced. Nothing more than that. I expect the data loss and perhaps the Unzip problem to be fixed. Anything else is an added bonus.

    I like that!

Then again, I have another system running 1809 without a problem - yet.

Yes, definitely! They're just afraid to release anything until they are 200% sure that it's safe. Yes, it's tiring, but understandable..

It's bonfire night on 5th November in the UK to celebrate Guy Fawkes' attempt to blow up Parliament (I wish we had him now).

Perhaps the 5th would be good release date and expect to see flames on the Forum!
