Windows 10 October 2018 Update rollout now paused

Josey,
No, you've got it all wrong. I just think there should be separate threads for different issues that people encounter, so they can easily follow that particular discussion, not all lumped into a 271 page several thousand comments thread containing every single discussion of every single issue that is impossible to follow.
In fact, I am an Insider, have been from Day 1 back in October 2014. As far as that goes, there actually is an Insiders subforum here, but people seem to prefer chaotic multi-thousand comment threads. I've tried to steer people there and caught abuse for it. So be it.
And kindly don't school me on what this forum is all about, I've been an active member for several years longer than you have, in fact for as long as there's been Windows 10.
Not trying to school you on anything , fact is that I brought this up a long time ago and was shot down as this does help, about there being a sub for for insiders, this I know but members that are in the IP have a great deal of frustration and being in that is very frustrating , I could remember when we got two builds in one day. I only eluded to The Insider members as they are the ones that get most of the frustration and need to vent it more so than users that just wait for the next CU. I was in it from the 2nd build till about 5 months ago and got back into it to get 17763.104. If this build ever goes final I will be back out of it.

I understand the need to vent, believe me! I'd just like to decouple the venting from the substance, if you know what I mean. There's plenty of frustration in all directions. I guess I should go off and mutter to myself until this 1809 thing blows over :)

Yes, because surely they slogged through 200 pages of gossip to get a couple of tidbits of information.
That's exactly what they did if they were the least bit interested.

I'm one of these fictitious characters. And thanks for all the learning you guys routinely give.

I like reading through it.
Are insiders connected to MS? Are there official MS employees who chime in here on TF?

Are insiders connected to MS?
No. Anyone can become an Insider, you just have to go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Insider programme and click 'Get started'.
Are there official MS employees who chime in here on TF?
No. Well, none that are admitting to being one, at any rate. In the current situation they'd get flamed
I'll bet a lot of them read TF though

If you're referring to me, I'm just someone who listens more than he talks. Hence the lack of posts since joining in 2015. No MS spy here.

This and other threads like this are just about info on new build, problems can be solved by specific posts/threads. They become obsolete and interest is lost as soon as new build is released. It's easy enough to unsubscribe from it if you don't want to read it. Locking it would serve no purpose, somebody would open similar one same day, maybe hour, asking about same thing all over the place.

I'm following this thread, commenting here and there but it is becoming very frustrating.
I do realise I can "unfollow" but there have been useful tidbits along the way, and interesting links to other sites / opinions that lessen the frustration.
Might be worth pointing out that usually Ten Forum threads stay largely
on-topic but I think it should be said that this thread is exceptional due to the exceptional nature of the issue.

Windows Insider "MVP's" and Microsoft "MVP's" are connected to Microsoft via the MVP program(s). You get access to info the general public doesn't. Some of it is actually under NDA and you sign an NDA agreement. They aren't employee's of Microsoft though. Microsoft employee's cannot be an MVP. Microsoft MVP Award Just look for the Windows Insider MVP badge under user names.
