Will the update name be changed to The Halloween update? If the roll out doesn't go past the 31st

It should be the Celsius 262 update (Fahrenheit 451 update to those across the Pond) when we burn everything on Nov 5th.

How-To Geek has an article that all but confirms the update won't be out until November.

Well that is a 100% cast iron certain definite MAYBE!

They have no more idea than anybody else. It is easy to make such a prediction as we get near the end of a month. Actually, imo that is a truly disappointing article for HOWTOGEEK who usually provide great articles and do not usually indulge in crappy journalism just to get hits.

Anyway, the zip issue has been resolved! The month is not over yet. We will only be certain at midnight on 31st October if it was released in October or November. In the end it is just a flipping date - there is no magic or mystique - Halloween is NOT REAL - It is purely a fabricated Sales and Marketing gimmick.

The zip issue has not been released to the RP ring yet.

Here's the way that I see it...

My clients all want Windows 7.

They don't even see a need for Windows 10 - it does nothing for them except cause aggravation.

The OS is more complex than you think. I confront it because I have to stay up-to-date with the current technologies. W10 will have much promise when all these "quirks" are worked out. However, it's been a few years now and I really don't see such major progress in making W10 so user friendly and rock-solid as W7.

I can do something in W7 that takes 10 seconds versus 30 seconds in W10.
    Should that be called progress?

I'm not surprised that 1809 caused the problems that it did.
It only shows that MS is not testing it's releases as well as they should be.

Yes, there are very good people here who devote their time and effort as an insider to make a difference but I don't think that MS really cares on the granular level, but on aggregate. Look at Classic Shell. The developer quit working on it since OS changes pushed by MS caused havoc and didn't want to deal with it anymore.

I would like to see MS correct 1809, re-release it and then perfect the whole W10 OS.

No more feature enhancements for time time being. No embellishments.
Just make W10 as good as W7 (if this is possible) and slowly go from there.

Make it a stellar OS for the masses.

I've put out enough fires in my time. Computing is still in the Wild West stage.

Sorry for my rant. Enough said.

I don't want to repeat what Martin has so eloquently stated, lest I incur a sermon-ette on the proper use of the Scottish version the Oxford English Dictionary (), so I'll put it this way: Every Tech Rag Blogger on this planet salivates over every crumb of who/why/where/what and how of this issue. They all say the same thing, just variations through manipulation of the smoke and mirrors.

Answer is still nobody knows when.

Yes agree , lots of bla-bla-bla, etc, etc in this forum !
Lets keep it to the culprit ; when will we get our cumulatives , or final upgrade ??

Really? For all the people I am aware of, including me, the main questions sound: "How can I avoid all these damned upgrades? Why I cannot simply decide whether they will be installed?"

    ---------------------------

I do not know where that suicidal desire to be hit by another upgrade rises...
