While these are sound advices, unfortunately, they are beyond the understanding and reach for most of the W10 Home Edition users. The same crowd that did not have these issues with W7 or 8.x all the sudden are forced to deal with it. And that's hitting them hard, much harder than the crowd in this forum...

    Absolutely agreed.

The whole WaaS idea is insidious and insane because it ignores and harms main demands of regular users - safe, stable and invariable OS, which is taken only as tool to achieve their own aims.

Seems this thread has become a platform for anything that is "update" related -- but I would like to get back to the main topic, as indicated in the thread title.

Anyone have any "authoritative" information on when we can NOW expect to see the "1809 Upgrade"?

Yes agree , lots of bla-bla-bla, etc, etc in this forum !
Lets keep it to the culprit ; when will we get our cumulatives , or final upgrade ??
And will it stay on 1809 , or will MS change it...........??

Will it end up being 1810, 1811, or what, Been about 1-2 weeks in Slow & Release Preview, and haven't heard any other news on 1809 at all or what the plan is for re release to public at this point, be so nice to hear something concrete, but so far not counting on that myself

No it will stay 1809 as it was released as that, any fix will be with a CU.

When Microsoft actually rolls out the October update

Will the update name be changed to The Halloween update? If the roll out doesn't go past the 31st

Ah but does no actually mean no. No was a very fluid concept for my ex.

Ex - can I buy these shoes
    Me - no
Ex - look at my new shoes.
