Hope they fix the brightness issue... still seeing that on my friends 1809 HP laptop. Goes to 50% brightness on restarts and some boots. Put back, does the same.

Just watches a MS AI advertisement on TV. Maybe they should have used AI on v1809. Oh wait, maybe they did?
Hi there.
Actually the logical endgame of fully functioning AI is why would we mere HUMANS even need a computer at all -- all our questions / calculations etc would be done by AI -- the only devices we would need would be a phone and something to play games on - and possibly a kindle like device for reading.
The late Stephen Hawking was worried that AI could cause an eventual Extinction Level event - causing Humans to die out -- more dangerous in the long term than Nuclear weapons, climate change, bad politics etc etc.
I'm not so pessimistic but AI needs to be very carefully considered -- even low level automation has huge implications for the next and future generations on employement and economics and if Humans don't use brains they will atrophy and we will wither away as a species.
Just consider even automonous trucks, cars and public transport alone -- how many people currently work in those sectors -- to say nothing of automating the manufacture and servicing of these vehicles. A lot of these are lower paying jobs e.g uber taxi drivers etc -- imagine the social problems if all these 100,000's of people were rendered unemployed and the tax base wasn't sufficient to pay unemployement etc --horrendous social problems possible.
Cheers

Humans are more likely to exterminate each other and AI to save them (humans wanting it or not) !! Like somebody said "Ai is no match for stupidity".

I don't need no AI, my Wife already "knows everything".

I think you mixed it with database.

Anyone seeing failed Defender updates today in 1809?
Although it reports as failed, when I open Defender it shows as using the same version as is reported to have failed.

I had one failure but that's not uncommon if you do a manual check for updates.

Its doing this from its automatic check. I've restored back to a disk image and still find the same behaviour. As soon as it auto checks it fails.
Edit...
This was from the first time around.
