for those having trouble with getting update or want to install manually -- seems build is available from UUPDUMP

then instead of chosing insider ring etc select RETAIL

will offer you feature update to Windows 10, version 1809 (17763.1)

    build : id 17763.1

Seems it is no longer being offered from WU. Think I'll wait till it comes back.

Some settings are managed by your org. And why were the recovery points switched off?

‚My second desktop ended up with Skippy as I mistakenly restored from backup om this machine. Waited for this one to come and making ISO over MCT to do clean install on it. Will let it stay normal or enroll in Fast or Slow ring.

You are raising 2 possible points.
    a. It is typical after any upgrade procedure for System Restore to be disabled.
    Why? Please ask MS.

    b. If you mean 'where are my old restore points?' - old restore points created for your old build are totally irrelevant for your new one.

B is answer to A. Windows.old is for restoring to previous version. Restore point would be unusable.

The URI ms-settings:network-wifisettings no longer works in 1809.

From a command prompt the command start ms-settings:network-wifisettings should open Settings at the WiFi's 'Manage known networks' page but nothing opens. If Settings is open before using the command the it briefly changes to 'Manage known networks' then closes, so this is a bug in 1809 rather than the URI not being correct. The page can be reached by navigating to it from the Settings app, just not opened directly with its URI.

I have tried some of the other URI's in @Brink's tutorial and they still work, so far it's just this one I've found that doesn't.

Had to do a clean install on my x86 Release Preview VM. It didn't create a recovery partition which probably explains the upgrade failures.

No, it isn't. A is saying that creating new restore points (that would be useable) has been turned off.

Having said that, System Protection wasn't turned off on any of the machines I've upgraded.
