Just a question.... when you say "burned", do you mean as in making a bootable DVD? Or just copied the ISO to the DVD?
As in making a bootable DVD, because right after the download I had the choice to click on the DVD burner.
Edit: To be more precise, after the burning process was over, I right-click opened BD-ROM to see all the files on the disk and then right-clicked the .exe file to run as administrator.

If you still have the ISO, just mount it and run setup.exe. That lets you keep everything.

Thanks for checking. Operationally Edge is perfect and I'm not aware of any issue at all in use.

To be precise, you must run the Setup.exe you find in the top level folder to start an upgrade. If you run the one from the sources folder it will do a clean install with the option to keep your files. This is not new to 1809, it has been this way for previous editions too.

I know that I have to mount the .iso in order to run the setup.exe, but my problem is that all the files on the disc are dated back to June 2018. That is why I am waiting for the re-release of 1809 so that I can recreate my DVD with the new MCT. Just for the record, right now I am OK because I have managed via "Reset Windows Update" & "Troubleshooting Windows Update" to be at build 17763.55

I thought that was a given, but thanks for pointing that out to anyone who would drill down looking for the setup.exe. A picture says it all.

Turns out that I've effectively been using Known Folder Redirection since Windows 7!
The description of how to move standard folders to new locations is what I always do on a new installation.
AND, I did it right - I clicked on the YES button to move all the files from the old location to the new location.
Just didn't know it was called KFR

That would be 19th June 2018. That identifies it as the ISO for the updated 1803 media that installs the base version 16299.112.
That also explains why you can't keep any apps, only your files. You would be trying to downgrade 1809 to 1803. Only an upgrade to the same or higher major build number allows you to keep apps as well.

Exactly and I don't want to retrograde to version 1803. My system is running really smooth and up-to-date (It's like it is on steroids or the new SSD that has just come out— sorry I don't remember the name for now, something like SSDMe.v2). And that is why, I prefer to wait for the re-release of 1809 in order to make a new DVD just in case a future CU doesn't make things easy for me to install.
