Extract from Insider blog:
I wonder how they get their numbers. One one-hundredth of one percent, it would mean that out of one million installs, only 100 users lost their data. While the reports of actual data loss are few (one one-hundredth of one percent of version 1809 installs), any data loss is serious.
Comparing it to what I have read and heard, I get totally different numbers. For instance, after doing some heavy cleaning in my contacts, I have currently 117 contacts on my phone and PC. Out of those 117, four have contacted me since last week to ask help for this issue. Assuming all those who have not contacted me regarding this issue had no issues, and again assuming all of them did the upgrade, it would mean that 3.42 percent of my contacts lost their data. That percentage would mean 34,200 users out of million installs losing the data, compared to 100 Microsoft says were affected.
Of course among my contacts the actual percentage is even higher. Not all of them are using Windows 10, and not all using Windows 10 did the upgrade.
I am just wondering, where do they get their numbers?
