I suppose it doesn't bother me because my login screen is just that - I don't study it, I log in to the computer.
What really bothers me is Microsoft blurring the pic that I expect see see as I log in and not giving me the option to keep it the way I want it. Just one more example of Big Brother taking away yet another choice.

    but..., but..., but...,

The translucent texture of this transient surface helps you focus on the sign-in task by moving the actionable controls up in the visual hierarchy while maintaining their accessibility.

    (Whatever the hell that means!!!)

Means you can see where you're typing, after you get over the blur-fuzz distraction you can't stop looking at! Simple.

I have a black screen with a totally black avatar picture and all I see is a white login bar against a totally black background.

I must change it as the lack of transparent visual accuity takes my focus off the white bar and I struggle to see where the white entry bar is against a black background.

I now understand why I always had issues logging - how silly of me not to realise!

For Brits, we would describe that bs phrase as Colemanballs after a legendary sports commentator who said really stupid things like that.

A classic was one Olympics and an gymnast was doing his stuff on the two suspended rings, and he said sonething like "Admire the fluidity of motion, the sheer inner strength and his spatial awareness". Then the gymnast fell and he replied "Oh dear, he has lost his spatial awareness!".

    Hi folks
just noticed on the login screen on this release

at bottom left it lists accounts and Administrative account

seems to me a bit of a security whole there -- I shouldn't be able to see a list of accounts from the login screen. If the default login isn't the last user it should prompt me for a user and also not present a list via say a dropdown. If it can't find one it should just say user doesn't exist or something like that.

You should NOT IMO be able to see anything about other users who can login.

    Cheers

It has always been like that!

You should not be able to see the Administrator account unless it is been undidden.

There is no security risk as each account has a password and you only see the username not email address.

You can see usernames of all users simply by listing subdirectories of c:\users.

Any one with admin rights can see all users and their data any way.
