Every Windows 10 update requires a certain amount of storage space on your hard drive to help the update install smoothly. Updates help ensure that your device has the latest features and security improvements so it continues to run efficiently and securely.

Before downloading an update, Windows checks to make sure there’s enough space on your device for installation. If there isn’t, you’ll see a message asking you to free up some space. Here’s an example of one of these messages:

The following instructions focus on freeing up space to install a Windows feature update. You can also learn about other ways to free up drive space and prevent future low disk space issues at Free up drive space in Windows 10.

Sucks for those running cheap 32-64GB laptops. They probably can't even get this update without warnings and red lights.

Yeah I'm one of those people with a 64gb ssd on my laptop, however, I've not run into any issues with lack of space for updates as of yet.

Upgrade using a user file (say File History) backup and clean install a USB MCT. Reinstall third party apps. Sign back into cloudy stuff. Not simple / trivial, but faster.

Hopefully this eases when they make the x64 only update images.

You said the x64 updates are only for the enterprise, I say they are for all. These images will be made, shared and used.
