No, none of my machines has even received it. Looking at what it purports to achieve, none of my machines has any related problems.
@Bree appears to have a similar relaxed attitude towards this update.
What I meant by "more trouble than it's worth" was that so many people seem to be panicking about NOT getting an update that does very little anyway!
As I said, it's not a "B" update, therefore no security ramifications by simply ignoring it. If MS believe that the fixes it contains / contained are important, they'll roll them into the next cumulative update.
Think about it - we've all managed to follow a thread for 22 pages that basically says that MS introduced a minor upgrade that suddenly vanished for no obvious reason. I'm thinking about seeking treatment for OCD!![]()
Ok, I see.
No, there aren't any security patches, only 54 quality improvements fixes. I suppose that can be construed as minor.
Average user, most any user, would be hard pressed to say none of these affects them or is important.
Odd, though, that the day it stopped being available, Friday the 21st, was when this was added. From post #1 above:
[ADDED 9/21] Addresses an issue that prevents dual tunnel AlwaysOn VPN configurations that use trusted network detection from having both tunnels operational.
Lots of members have a relaxed attitude concerning this, not just Bree, or you or me. Don't see any panic as you put it, maybe confusion and curiosity. I had posted to just wait till Tuesday, give em a couple days, just as Bree posted the same thing right after I did.
So, no, no panic. Just curiosity and looking for some guidance, maybe.
a few people in this forum seemed to have gotten the KB4458469 update thru Windows Update just now.
however, if some of you are still not receiving it thru WU, don't sweat it - wait until either 9/24 or 9/25 to get it
I still have a machine on .286, it still does not find .319 in windows update.
It's only 4.15AM in Redmond, I wouldn't expect anything to change until their working day begins in about 5 hours, at the earliest. I'll check again after that.
