Working fine on 2 Notebooks and 2 Desktops. WU did the Notebooks but I did the Desktops with the Offline Installer a couple hours later, all same afternoon.

Just to add a twist to all this...

I just finished up doing a Repair Install using MS 17134.1 ISO. Nothing was obviously broken, it's just something I do every 2-3 months, kinda like running the OS thru a car wash. Wanted to do it shortly before the impending Fall thing.

All went fine, took about 1/2 hour, then my tweaks. In the process, I chose the option to "Check for Updates", so it would automatically gather up all the cumulatives and others during the re-update, and apply them.

I ended up with 17134.319. Only other I had to get was the Sept. Flash update.

    All is running fine.

    Tested on a Dell Latitude E7440, Windows 10 Pro (x64) 1803 build 17134.285.

On the 20th Sept. as soon as KB4458469 was released a check for updates in windows update on this machine found and installed KB4458469, 17134.319.

Restoring a Macrium image of its 17134.285 system from 11th Sept. (the one it was still running by the 20th) and checking for updates today (22nd) at first only found and installed KB4100347 (the Intel microcode update). After a restart to install that, it found and installed KB4464218 (17134.286).

KB4458469 is no longer found by windows update on this machine, even after several more restarts. Seems it is now only available through the Update Catalog.

Wow, Bree. Thanks for doing this test for us.

I've been periodically manually checking for updates since KB4458469 was released, but I'm not 100% sure I manually checked on the 20th, although I think I did. But, I am 100% sure I checked on both the 21st and 22nd.

As Cliff said, I won't waste my time any longer, and I fully expect to hear from Microsoft on this issue, if not Monday, surely on Tuesday . . . however, since they didn't acknowledge the Macrium issue, maybe not . . .

The list of improvements is heavy this time and the patch like many C & D patches are applied slowly. The catalog remains the best practice.

Agreed, when the WU gets balky or non-cooperative. Apparently, the In-place Repair thinks so, too. Cumulative Update KB4458469 Windows 10 v1803 Build 17134.319 Sept. 20 - Page 20 - Windows 10 Forums

As a test, I've just run an in-place upgrade with the 17134.1 ISO on the same machine I used to test windows update earlier, the one where windows update could not find anything newer than .286. As a precaution, I first tried checking for updates and windows update still said .286 was fully up to date.

I can confirm that, like yours, with 'check for updates' ticked in Setup it got the update to 17134.319.

Did a manual check again today, Sep 23, and still not finding anything. Should I go ahead and use the Update Catalog? Or wait a couple more days?
