Did a manual check again today, Sep 23, and still not finding anything. Should I go ahead and use the Update Catalog? Or wait a couple more days?
Unless the CU actually fixes a problem you have, just ignore it and and wait for the next one, which, as the name suggests, will be cumulative. There really is no need to install an update just because MS throws it at you!

This is clearly not a "B" Windows 10 update servicing cadence - Windows 10 Forums

and it's proving to be more trouble than it's worth.

Not that I nor anyone else has any evidence to the contrary, this being a weekend, and it seemed to disappear on Friday, give MS until Tuesday to say/do something or it show up in WU. If nothing, go ahead and use the manual method. JMHO.

I would wait. There's no rush, this update has no new security fixes.

The suspicion is that it is a problem on the update server that's preventing you seeing the update. If so, that may well get fixed when the MS staff return to work after the weekend.

I went ahead and updated 3rd laptop manually to it when didn't see the file via WIndows update on the 21st, Laptop ran fine when i tested it yesterday for like 4-5 hours, so whatever going on with the update, guess nothing major.

I tend to always update to each update that comes out, even if the updates breaks Avast Free i've been known to update lol, after 1809 gonna attempt to stick with Defender on the systems, Should i do full clean install on main Desktop or Reset then update to 1809 via WIndows update

I went ahead and just did the update via Catalog since I like having my system up to date, and nobody here has reported any issue. It was a quick update, and my machine seems to be running as usual. Although Reliability History and Update History is showing the update as "Update for Windows" instead of the usual "2018-09 Cumulative Update yada yada"

I have begun to notice people tire of updates here, well so am I. Ever since the summer began they have been forcing more and more updates now instead of regular patch Tuesday when it should be. I'm looking forward to the fall 2018 update being the last overhaul OS

Switched on the PCs here and just a normal Defender update. So clicked Check for Updates manually and it found and installed the fix OK. But after restart it still says version 17134.286 on both PCs.

Checked what it installed and it was just KB4464218.
