Maybe they plan to release it on halloween and scare everyone with a BSOD during the update.

There seems to be a CU a week atm!
Yep, it’s getting beyond a joke. What was the point of releasing Monday’s CU if only 3 days later they plan to unleash another one.

What is the insider program now mandatory. Come on four updates that required reboots in only 2 weeks. Sick of this.
Only the Patch Tuesday updates will automatically be downloaded by windows update. For all the other CUs, like this one, windows update will not find them unless you specifically click the 'Check for updates' button. So only one of those updates was 'mandatory'. The others are for you to choose to install (or not).

The reason is that only the CU for second Tuesday of the month contains any new security fixes, all the others are previews of quality updates that will be in the next 'Patch Tuesday' update.

    Microsoft said:
At times referred to as our “B” release, Update Tuesday (most often referred to as Patch Tuesday) updates are published the second Tuesday of each month. These updates are the primary and most important of all the monthly update events and are the only regular releases that include new security fixes.

Holy cow, this looks like helluva patch!
That's the public name. Inside Microsoft Tech circles, it's known as "job security".

One reason I love this forum (and Brink!) is because these threads tell me when it's time to press the "Check For Updates" button.

maybe we'll get the prerelease of FCU tomorrow. Would be a nice 'birthday present' for me - my birthday is 21st.

No matter how many times I 'Check for Updates', no update appears. Oh well, one more try...
