Hi folks
while people say what DOESN'T work in this build is quite common but for me I've got the opposite !!! something WORKS which wasn't working before for ages except in an old VM (W7).
first time I've got this working again since Win 7 without having to use a VM (and it even plays old .ogg files -- I usually use .flac)
It's brilliant since I have 2 of those old Logitech squeezebox things which have optical output to play into decent hi-fi gear.
Very happy -- can't believe a new skippy build has enabled me to "recommission" some old but great hardware !!) --it's not all bad at Ms.
No problem you might say with Kodi / VLC -- OK but how do you get that wirelessly (without even thinking about blu tooth) into an older remote high quality hi-fi amp !! --no prob to Amazon TV stick or phone). Don't even think of mentioning Blu tooth and high quality hi-fi classical music in the same sentence --blue tooth fine for certain scenarios but I'm talking here high quality uncompressed music played into top range amps with studio reference quality speakers -- about a zillion miles from poorly compressed .mp3 with bud phones.

You know what has disappeared from a few major releases ago and thats the whats playing icon on the start bar. Miss that.
Hi there
when you connect again I think this is fine as it shows what's currently playing
Note also there's an app on Samsung that acts as a controller as well that works almost in the same way with same screens. That does actually have the "what's playing" thing on the screen (as does the old official handset that came with the squeezebox receiver).
Mobile phone app is also quite good for controlling the system as well - however it's easier to do it from the computer. The server (Logitech media server / squeezebox server) is still maintained and there are nightly builds on this link --still maintained. I run my server on Linux but there are windows builds as well on the link. Still maintained nightly and regularly updated.

Thank you for the suggestion but it still requires a reboot to change.
