Don't have any dropouts on not so glorious ISP.
Hi there
@CountMike
usually never -- and if this were a problem why only on the one machine !!!!!
I've 7 machines on my LAN - Windows XP (ENG/VM), Windows XP (ISL/VM) , W7 (ENG/VM), W7 (ISL/VM), W10 insider fast/VM), W10 insider skippy(real machine) and 2 Linux NAS systems on real machines.
The only one with a problem is the skippy. !!!!

Hi there @CountMike
you're an early riser I see on Sunday Morning
anyway Network seems fixed
I turned off completely everything that had any sort of network connection --- phones, computers, TV's, amazon fire TV's, Heating smart remote control, Router etc etc. and left for 30 mins.
Restarted the whole kybosh and now everything seems OK.!!! bit of a silly solution but when it comes to networking anything will do so long as it works !!

Yeah, old habit, 6AM (local time) any day.
Glad you fixed that problem, personally I reset the router every couple of months which keeps it fresh although I have a list of settings (on paper, in a book) which have to be applied. This service (4G) requires renewing IP twice a day which gets it offline for about 15 seconds but that mostly happens at inopportune times.
Hi there.
5G being tested which will make fibre optic cable redundant -- so just as they lay one lot of cable the whole thing becomes obsolete (again) !!!! --remember when ADSL was meant to be the answer to slow broadband !!
5G speeds should be in the 10Gb/s - 1 Tb/s !! range
will need that once UHD 4K and now even UHD 8K video streams / downloads needed. For 8K though you'll need a TV the size of an average house !!
Anyway hoping for another skippy or is that it until next spring. Ms will have to do something though when all the insider builds etc expire nice and conveniently just before Xmas.
Cheers

We just got 4G last year, I have seen speeds over 150Mbps but my ISP is throttling it down to 40 and even that is on a good day (hour).
