That's what happened here. Processed in "chunks", it seemed. Odd.

    Hi there

No probs so far with this build -- installed easily and quickly and works fine (so far-- I can always find something to break though).

at least you've got plenty of time for one of these - with or without alcoholic additions

As is typical this past week, buried in other projects, I see the Fast Ring release a day later than it happens. Just fired it off on the Surface Pro 3 and it's already up to 87% in "Getting Things Ready" in the GUI install phase:

Hope this one goes smoothly. Seems like the 19H1 items, as far ahead of the impending release date as they are right now, have been a bit rough around the edges. To be expected at this stage of that game, I guess! Will report back in and when gotchas appear.

    [3 hrs later]
Still only at 84% on GUI install. Haven't even made it to the first reboot yet. Seems unusually slow. Wouldn't be suprised to check the Update history later and see some failed installs ... goes off to look ... Sure enough, 3 failures so far running unattended

Further research shows that "there is a problem with the download and that its files are corrupted or missing" is associated with error code 0x8024200d. Guess I'll have to keep an eye on this one... Just this the restart into first reboot, and will see what happens next.

Rebooting now ... spinning balls ... Surface logo jumps to "Working on updates" now at 20% ... feeling more hopeful this time

Made it past the reboot at 64% ... now at 72% ... 77% ... sitting there for some time ... 84% ... 89% ... we're making progress now ... 100% ... another reboot ... lockscreen is present. Made it! First logon now underway ... as always, takes a minute or two ... or three ... new build Edge screen showing. Success!

Two issues with this build so far:

Got green screen while trying to mount Macrium Reflect image to explore it. Was repeatable.

Safely remove icon showed no drives for removal while there were some. USB devices such as WIFI adapter and Fingerprint reader were displayed(???).

Me to, just tried, GSOD with error: IRQ NOT LESS OR EQUAL
Safely remove icon showed only internal drives (they are set as removable in BIOS) so that's probably right. The fly-out is pale and doesn't follow Dark theme. Can barely see letters.
Methinks it's problem with mounting virtual disk. It shows for a moment and than goes into GSOD. Report sent but will still have to check with some VD software.
