    Hi folks
    Latest Skippy Build : Showstopper

MR also broken -- when run from KYHI disk (boot from KYHI USB)
MR broken when run from MR boot media

Now if I cant image system OK then that's it because I'm not doing anything on computers if I can't make timely backups.

The only thing that works for me (as I don't have the other windows backup programs -- and I don't want to change from MR) is from a Linux VM -- attach the disk and copy it with DD -- bit of a long winded process but just did it for a test.

So I'll abandon this skippy -- as I said must have reliable backups -- would you get into a car with no seat belt and no brakes !!!

I'm sure MR will be on the case pretty quickly though or even Ms or both --then I'll try again.

    Cheers

Did it stop working all together for you or just wouldn't make a valid backup for system disk like it happened to me ?

Other HDD's fine [-- only system Disk -- so there's something Ms have done to system Disk --- My system disk is an SSD (250GB) with only windows on it - nothing else.

BTW Linux DD works (slow of course) if you can attach the windows system disk to it via another VM or boot a live Linux distro. GPARTED might also work - I know DD always works as it doesn't care about file systems or disk geometry - it's just data.

Restoring back to last insider ring build until more info on skippy or MR.

    Cheers

    Thanks for posting.

Error 9 indicates a problem with the file system in that a reported file cluster number is beyond the size of the partition/file system.

Could you run chkdsk c: /f from an elevated command prompt to see if it detects/fixe any problems?

    Kind Regards

I have licensed version of Easus To Do Backup home 8.9 and it's not starting, just sits there with opening screen.
I also have problems with USB sticks, one can't open and not in Disk management but in Device manager and nowhere else.
Second one (32GB) works but some crazy stuff is happening. When I try to make boot disk, all programs end up with error (In use by some entity). I have half dozen disk partition tools and only one shows some small, hidden partition which I can't get rid of.

    Hi there

    Does RUFUS still work

I didn't notice the USB stick problem. I had to use a wifi connection once also before the ethernet was recognized. (testing on a laptop)

Anyway have abandoned this build for the time being -- I've 'DD'd' it (linux disk copy) in case there are fixes so I don't have to re-install.

    Cheers

No Rufus (all 3 versions I have) throw same error.
I also run chkdsk c: /f as suggested and it didn't find any problems.

    Hi folks

I'm sure that's an Ms problem with the disks etc -- the chances of so many of us getting the same HDD hardware error is less than a human surviving until the end lifetime of the universe !!!

at least they are on the case though.

I made Kyhi usb from Mint but it doesn't BOOT.
Btw. that hidden partition (if it exists at all) doesn't show in any Linux partition programs either. Don't think it's this build's fault though, I had that problem for a while now but always managed to fix.
Diskpart also doesn't recognize it (that partition). I'll try safe erase next, that should kill all partitions.

    Hi there
    @CountMike

DD always works for copy disk / partition. Use carefully --used to be known as "Disk Destroyer" !!

as far as rufus / KYHI is concerned try making it on even a windows VM if you are hosting from Linux. I had no problems doing it that way.

Anyway back to regular build on that laptop -- have 17134 on this one

I can't run a system if MR doesn't work -- if I have to switch I've got too many backups to convert -- I've got about 7 TB of music / video archived !!.

    cheers

I'm doing backup with Easus right now, it's slow but will so if it finishes, there are other backup programs too.
