    Hi there

That will be the world's genuine first Y3K project (Year 3000 -- no leap year !!!) convert USA to metric and km/hr !!
Or . . . we could convert the UK to our way of doing things.

another point -- maybe a Guinness book of records for Macrium providing quickest fix after an Ms windows change (or hose up ?? who knows) by Ms.
    Cheers

Yep, maybe someone should submit it to Guiness.

Wasn't weekend when the build was released. MS should have said something about that change in file system and possible implications, don't believe it's a bug but something deliberate.
I'm not completely sure Microsoft actually knew what they'd done, Count. Not until the outcry from Macrium clients!

    Hi there

It's called I believe "Planned Obsolescence" -- you need bugs etc to create work for devolopers and testers plus also force people into updating / upgrading their products every so often.

Windows XP great example of that -- built on the basis of W2K3 Server (W2003 server) which was probably Ms's best and most stable OS it was phased out far earlier than it needed to have been - had Ms continued with the not much used but definitely great potential of the 64 bit version of XP we might have been spared all the horrors of Windows VIsta, 8 and 8.1 -- although we might not have had W7.

Still that's history - and lets face it a load of us are still getting (legally) Free upgrades to W10 via earlier OS'es and of course we have insider and skippy releases.

    Cheers

    Hi there

They probably don't work Mondays either -- I think in the US it's called "Monday Morning Quarter Backing" -- the devs will surely be in day long meetings on Mondays. !!!!

    Cheers

Actually, two or three years before I retired, we were given the option to work four tens (ten hour days), with either Monday or Friday being our day off, so yeah there could be some who don't work Mondays. However, we don't have "Monday Morning Quarter Backing" in our work week.

Problem with MS is they think they are an entity to their own - only filtered info is released... this is unbecoming. No wonder people are up in arms about telemetry and stuff... they can't be trusted. Ninja cats and all.

Apart from the task manager glitch and with Macrium fixed everything seems to work OK for me.

MS has always seemed to think they know better what is best for us than we do.

I think it's more that they're trying to protect those who don't know memory from a hard drive and we who actually know what we're doing get caught in the cross fire.

I think..., I know they have a Mission and a Marketing Plan, and, if it inconveniences some, then that's just too damn bad!!!
