Just curious if you are syncing your favorites on Edge across multiple devices successfully? Having four different machines I have never synced favorites without numerous duplicates, blank folders etc.. Trick I finally implemented was since Chrome was on all machines and it syncs properly, I periodically delete all Edge favorites and import them from Chrome.

After many attempts trying to clean up Edge favorites I just gave up and let Chrome be the library for Edge.
I have had absolutely no issues, Edge syncing everything extremely well and without duplicates.

On each device after installation, I first go to Settings app and check that sync is enabled (tutorial). Next step is to launch Edge and sign in to Bing and Outlook.com with my MS account email, then enable syncing in Edge (tutorial).

That's it. No need to export / import favorites, login credentials and such.

"On each device after installation" may be the key. I rarely reinstall an thus it appears to me there is always some residual Edge or Internet Explorer favorites junk lurking somewhere either in the machines or in the cloud that create junk. Next time I reinstall I follow your steps. Thanks.

I think I have to export all bookmarks on one computer, then clean that file up, reset all instances of Edge I have on all computers and finally import bookmarks to one computer and let the sync take care of the rest. Wonder if that would solve my problem.

Slice, I must repeat what I said: I have no need to export / import. In fact, I will never export or import anything in Edge.

I set up Windows with a local account, then first thing I do is to sign in to Store with my main MS account, which then automatically signs me in to all MS services and apps. I do not switch to MS account in Windows, continue using a local account which can be seen for instance in Settings app. Mine does not show "Switch to local account" which it would show if signing in to Windows with an MS account, it shows "Stop signing in to all Microsoft apps automatically":

Short: I use local account but have connected it to all MS services and apps.

OK, this done, I enable sync in Settings, sign in to Bing and Outlook.com in Edge, and finally check that Edge syncing is enabled and using correct MS account in Edge settings:

I have absolutely no need to export / import anything, nor will I get duplicates.

Well, I get duplicates and a bunch of crap when doing exactly how you just described.

Thus I need to do this cleanup procedure once, so I can start from a clean slate. Even my Android is full of crappy bookmarks.

    Hi folks
Grrrhhhhhh!!!!!! Rats, Dogs, all sorts of nastynesses on the revered heads of Ms developers !!!!!!

Networking seems hosed up again on 17754.1

Can see / access computer system is running on and all other Linux systems (3 X) including the HYPER-V one I finished off this morning running on another W10 machine. 2 X NAS, 1 HYPER-V VM.

Can't see any W10 machines (x 3) other than the one the update ran on. Strange - can't see Host machine for my running HYPER-VM Linux system but can see the VM itself !!!!

What's up with networking -- is it like the old US TV standard NTSC (Never Twice the same colour) !!!

I'm not re-setting routers, re-booting devices etc -- shouldn't have to when I only updated one stinking laptop !!

apart from that --really quick seamless update - less than 30 mins. Network can access other (Windows) machines via IP address so I'll leave this update on the laptop.

    Cheers

Do you ever have issues with Activation? Are you always running activated versions of Windows on all your machines?

I don't have to say much about this sloppiness. Now that Kari is posting duplicate screenshots maybe he will look at this one.

First, where and when have I posted duplicate screenshots?

Second, I am well aware of Edge group policies. I see nothing new in your screenshot. I wrote this article two months ago: New Microsoft Edge Group Policies and MDM settings | Win10.Guru

    Hi guys

    C'mon

let's concentrate on what works and what doesn't work in this build.

Believe it or not -- it is actually a lot easier trying to be OK to others - and maybe we all make mistakes -- I've found being angry / irritable etc even when I know I'm in the right is much harder than just getting on with it !!!!

anyway enjoy the rest of the day lovely autumnal day here for this time of year -- pub, booze and footie tonight !!!

what's not to like - especially getting something working most people said would never work --SAP minisap (single user dev system) on Linux HYPER-V VM --Thanks a million to @Kari who got me through the bits where I couldn't boot system, adding USB devices and the network switch bits.
