One down, one to go. None of my deleted bloatware got reinstalled and the Windows Defender Verification Task did not reenable. Looks like my day's off to a good start.

    Edit:

G's Laptop ran "Checking For Updates" for over 30 minutes, yet all the time it was downloading the update! Anyway both machines appear to have made successful updates.

Now what to do with myself for the rest of the day?

It downloaded and showed as installed not asking for a reboot. So it started downloading again. Rebooting fixed it.

Doesn't look like there's much that's critical for most users. I really wish MS would revert to releasing this stuff monthly rather than ad-hoc. Anyone else feel the same?
Ever since update to version 1803, my laptop periodically fails to detect my home Wi-Fi though other nearby Wi-Fis are detected. I had posed this problem in this forum without any viable solution. The stop gap suggestions sometime works sometimes fails. This is rather mysterious behavior. My Network Adapter drivers are up to date. The detailed list of issues addressed in the present update includes one concerning Wi-Fi. Let us hope my problem regarding Wi-Fi connectivity might be resolved.

Mine does this too. Despite 'Connect Automatically' being selected and it sometimes changes my network location to 'Public' rather than 'Private' it sometimes starts with the network disconnected until I hit 'Connect'

    Hello,

I have installed this and the issue didn't get fixed. Maybe it's really my battery.

Again, I know you told me several times already in other thread, but searching for that KB4343909, I found out that several users were reporting battery issues, which were similar to mine: battery not charging, battery charging spontaneously, laptop shutting down randomly at 30%-40% which I am starting to have. Perhaps I need to change it, but degradation is only at about 30%, HP reports. Cycle is around 200 out of 300 times, I'll use this battery a bit more.

Worse of all, KB4343909 disappeared from the uninstall list.

Update started. I read about it yesterday and promptly forgot because, for some silly reason, Skip Ahead changed my dual boot to single boot to Skip Ahead.

Edit: Update finished. Will be working in Production Partition most of today, so things will be checked out.

This replaces the older August Cumulative so it will.

    What do you mean exactly?

Because of this issue, I'm starting to become paranoid about my battery. I even had to install HWiNFO to see my actual battery percentage, but sometimes it will glitch up for a moment.

Cumulative updates are exactly that. This is a Cumulative for August. It supercedes the older update, if you have neither you will only get the newest.

You don't need to run HWiNFO to get battery information, you can run

    powercfg /batteryreport /output c:\batteryreport.html

from PowerShell then open the file called batteryreport.html in your browser from the root of C:
