I noticed in 17746 that you no longer get any indication while checking updates. Use to have horizontal moving dots to the right, they are not present on mine even though the checking process is normal? Its just blank.

This build also destroyed all my contacts/bookmarks for I.E. FF remained normal.

Just finished the update to 17746 and I get this:
    Attachment 200763
I'll try a repair. If no go then a roll back.

Oracle VM, 4GB Vram, 50GB vdi.
As my next post stated, I was able to login after a reboot. What I did not realize right away was that I now had a new profile, C:\Users\TEMP.DESKTOP-4PTJQE3.000. I used whoami /user from a Elevated Command Prompt to find my profile SID (see How to Fix 'You've been signed in with a temporary profile' Error in Windows 10).

I had to go into regedit and rename (added -bad to end)

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\S-1-5-21-1095386897-1566090263-2650186789-1001

that pointed to the temp profile then remove -sav (added by Windows 10) from

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\S-1-5-21-1095386897-1566090263-2650186789-1001-sav

as that entry still pointed to my correct user profile: C:\Users\Ztruk. I then signed out and signed in again. Went through a normal 1st boot after update setup/cleanup then everything was back to normal.

1st real problem I've had with a Insider update in quite awhile.

Cannot verify Microsoft account. Spent about an hour on line with MS support. Useless. I have rolled back, reinstalled build 17746 and still cannot get account verified. Yet, I can log on and check everything except without account verification, cannot check email and cannot synchronize. Anyone had this problem?

I have it with clean install too. Was able to get it to work by adding a phone during install. Did another clean install and its doing it again.

@Dude - thanks for response. I have one computer that doesn't ask for verification, but my main computer keeps asking for verification and will not allow window to stay open long enough to complete task.

I linked my phone to my pc, and now its verified and sync is enabled. Shouldn't have to link the phone I think.

I had the same asking for verification problem with build 17744 and the previous release. I ended up doing a Reset and the problem went away .

That sounds like a better fix

Thank you. It worked well for me apart from having to reinstall various apps, at least Microsoft have the decency to dump a list of removed apps on your desktop.

Finished installing 17746 and made the ISO. After the first reboot from the desktop, the setup was very fast. I hope MSFT remembers how to do this in the future. No problems detected so far.
