Well, it worked. Kinda surprised, a new build with very little In fixes and nothing actually new,
Went smooth and fairly fast, except for one bewilderment right at the beginning. Jumped to "Gettings things ready" @ 70%...and just sat there. According the taskmanager, it was doing absolutely nothing. Other stuff chugging along, so not frozen. After 20 minutes of Skippy Coma, I was just ready to restart when it jumped to 77% and kept on going. All's fine. ISO made. Only thing I can figure is it had sent some "now what?" msg back to MS server and hadn't gotten an answer yet. Cause all you guys had it bogged down!
Working on it. Using my Surface Pro 3 as the current Skippy machine. Actually seems pretty capable in that role. Not a lotta firmware or driver changes, which I guess makes it a reasonably stable platform. I'll report back if anything interesting happens.

[Follow-up added 15.5 hrs later] Didn't get around to following up on the install until this morning. Install was successful with no apparent hiccups of any kind. Will be exploring later this morning. So far, so good, though.

Took about 2 hours to get it installed. Got frustrated at one point (about 70%) and Rebooted so that added more time. Eventually all went well but still seemed very slow. Got PC all cleaned up and removed the unnecessary partition to the SSD. Have a TOTL Notebook for a mule (Dell 9550) so surprised on how slow Skippy has gotten lately.
I agree completely and if I can't get bacl to the 18xxxx series because they've closed it its not a big deal for me with my new Ryzen system. Tumbleweed is working fine for me and I'm about to boot to the newest Fast Ring. I am not interested in being a Microsoft mushroom and with them closing off buildfeed leaks no way would I believe I was working with them on developing anything. The screwed up WSL and still released this buiild. Why? I somebody here confirms a bug not in "Known Issues" well kudos to you. I somebody finds a way to make a bootable INSTALLTION ISO then by all means let us know or please share it in Onedrive.
That sounds familiar! See my post..... New Windows 10 Insider Preview Skip Ahead Build 18219 - August 16
