Well I rebooted and trying to open Defender from the Windows Security app in the start list fails and also from the notification area.

I always deactivate MBAM before installing an upgrade and close it. This time when I opened Malwarebytes, after upgrading, it was still activated?

Ran DISM ..restorehealth with an immediate reboot. Defender now working. Same as that stupid screen snip.

Oh and screen snip was also useless. Used the PRTSC key and Paint 3D to capture and post.

    A reboot might fix it
The Snipping Tool (screen snip) is working fine for me, Fabler. I just took a couple of snips from this thread:

Dang, Fabler, I hate to keep disagreeing with you, but I just went to Start>Windows Security and everything came up roses. I also went to Show hidden icons and got the same thing:

BTW, I created this snippet with the Snipping Tool.

Just a reminder that System Restore needs to be activated (at least on my system).

Succesful upgrade on the HP. The ISO however is not bootable (except Kari posted a workaround for this which I have lost).
You can PM me if you want it anyway.

Didn't have problems with updates for loooong time now but one small one persists, When there's a WD update at same time, starting build update blinks twice starting main update again. That means total download is larger by few hundred MB. Could be a problem with limited internet plan.
I'm glad they concentrated some efforts on fixing bugs and moved away from mainly Edge "improvements". Dark theme still needs a lot of work, some parts of it in Explorer are still just plain white which is too stark contrast that hurts eyes.

They claimed on the previous build that work on the dark explorer was complete. I posted in the hub several problems with that.

This looks more like started than finished: New Windows 10 Insider Preview Skip Ahead Build 18214 - August 10-image.png This is a bit closer: New Windows 10 Insider Preview Skip Ahead Build 18214 - August 10-image.png This is one of my custom folders on desktop and that Navigation pane at left has no place in it. Also any change is reflected to all folders, even My Computer, can't contain it for particular custom folder only.

As I said in another comment, Microsoft continues to compile Skip Ahead builds daily without any problems, the fact that they appear or not in Buildfeed, has nothing to do with Microsoft.
Lol, some people seem to think BuildFeed is the one leading this development. It's simply just a news feed and if the sources are cut out or the reporter is lazy, then we're don't get any news.
