This time I decided to create a log of this update on mu old Toshiba.
18:15 WU starts initialising
18:25 shows 'getting things ready' which is new to me.
18:35 shows downloading.
18:37 shows pending download.
18:41 shows downloading.
18:58 shows 100% downloading. SSD quiet.
19:08 installing at 0%
19:13 installing at 10 %
19:32 installing at 40%
Both CPU cores at 100% now.#
20:03 one core used more than the other one?
20:16 95% installing with only one core used heavily?
20:17 100% installing.
20:20 pending restart.
20:25 green screen with 'working on updates' etc.
20:28 loading circles erratic but soon settle down at 2%.
20:29 Hit the bottle.
Boots to screen ' Working on updates.... Don't turn off your PC.... This will take a while... uh really?
20:50 screen at 84%. Getting tired now.
20:53 the 'HI! This Might Take Several Minutes...' screen. Losing the will...
20:56 on the Desktop at last. Don't know if everything is okay but it let me post this. Can't be bothered to work out how long it took, so very very tired. Need a darkened room for a few hours to lie down.
On a serious note this old 2009 Tosh I'm running is well made, even though slow to today's standards, will still chug along. Also credit to Microsoft's engineers to be able to keep such old machines able to run WinX 'as a service' as it's working for me. No idea if the same for recent machines.
This build seems a bit quicker to me, plus my Auzen X-fi sound is back
Oh and screen snip was also useless. Used the PRTSC key and Paint 3D to capture and post.
A reboot might fix it
