Holy crap - are you saying you have to use a special launcher - I use Nova Launcher and there is no way I am going to install another launcher just to copy poxy photos. This a totally OTT solution to a problem we never had.
Yep, that's what you are getting a link for delivered as an SMS when you add your Android to your PC. I'm perfectly happy with TouchWiz UI 6 from Samsung. It is what makes my device what I expected from it upon purchase.

The Microsoft Launcher is quite good, but it does not work for me at all. Widgets have way too oversized fonts and there's no way to make it smaller. It does not respect Android system settings.

MS can shove their PC/Mobile integration where the sun does not shine. If I need to sync something, OneDrive works perfectly fine.

Nope I have not. People seem to love the launcher so my feedback will disappear in the crowd.

To be honest, I've got a bit bored of giving feedback for stuff that won't ever be fixed. Even the most basic Windows stuff is too inconsistent or unreliable. When they start focusing on that and actually improve core features then I'll give more feedback.

Right now Windows 10 is an inconsistent and complete mess and just a playing ground for MS employees. So much wasted potential. Windows never seem to get past Beta status.

I have pretty much given up and just live with what they release. If it starts to jump in my face too much, I switch to some other platform where at least system, system updates, settings, UI and networking is consistent and reliable.

Too many loose ends for me to care too much where this is heading.

I don't like the fact that one has to install the Microsoft Launcher in order to use the Phone App features. That launcher cripples my mobile so badly, that I had to uninstall it.

Another thing I don't like either is that MS is "around the bush" with letting insiders know what they have to install. Why can't they just say straight out that "this is exactly what you have to install and this is what will change on your device"

The Microsoft Launcher makes my Android something else but an Android and it cripples everything that makes my Samsung Galaxy Note8 a Note8 by hiding or making features way worse.

A simple service with supporting app would have been enough.
I don't think you need the launcher to have Your Phone working. I don't have the launcher but Your Phone works properly. I do have the Microsoft Apps installed.

Well. Since the last few builds have failed miserably in my 32bit VM I decided to move a 64bit VM which was on the Release Preveiw onto the Fast Ring and see what happened. It bounced a few times between preparing and installing but eventually restarted and has booted to the desktop on 17730.1000.

I didn't even get that far. Since they said in the description I will get a link to an app to install. I did and only thing I got was that launcher and never got the actual phone app working on windows.

If launching something new, then at least there should be proper information and documentation with pictures of what requires what so people know what to expect.

I've had my phone connected to Windows since they added that feature and it worked quite well. The horrible setup process and suggesting a launcher to ruin my phone is a big leap in the wrong direction.

EDIT: Make Windows work properly first before spreading over to other platforms.

Only issue I've had to fix so far has been my KVM got messed up [4 computers 1 monitor 1 keyboard 1 mouse] but was easily resolved by unplugging everything from the KVM and plugging back in. The computers run Win10 RTM, Win10 IP, Linux Mint and WinXP.
