That's like skosh. Dad had a steelworker one of his jobs in '58 that had come home for Korea that I caught it from, in Asia it meant just a little bit as in "move it to the left just a skosh".
I was stationed in Japan for 2 years while in the Army and skosh was definitely Japanese:
A small amount of something. From the Japanese word "sukoshi," pronounced skosh. That also means a little bit.
