I finally found a cleaner today, that lets you save cookies live Avast cleaner does
You need to first analyze with all the browsers cookies selected, then go to settings\cookies
And don't forget to click apply! (otherwise you'll lose your cookies when you clean, been there - done that
)

Being it's a relatively new program and not often installed on Windows 10, you will nee to give permission to install when the Smartscreen warning pops up.
I had to do that also when @Superfly first started uploading SMACC and ShowKeyPlus every time until enough people started installing it too.Last edited by Cliff S; 03 Aug 2018 at 11:21.

I've disabled CCleaner in Task Manager/Start Up and it hasn't auto loaded after a re-boot.
However if it keeps going down the current path uninstalling will be the solution...

I just tried it after saving my cookies, and gave it a good run, to see if it nuked my system.
So far so good.
After using it a month, to get a real good feel for it, I might start a thread for it.
I would say it is on par with IOBIT's old version(1 & 2) of Advanced System Care, but without the bloat of the current version, and extra downloading. (I used to be an alpha and beta tester for them)

On build 18204 had a bit of hassle installing. First, Malwarebytes stopped the download so overridden, scanned the .exe with MBAM and okay. On installing, Windows popped up with 'unknown publisher', also overridden. Once running Defender's Ransomware blocked the app so had to give permission. Don't remember running through so many hoops with 'normal' Windows.

In CCleaner version 5.45, a changelog note says the company "added more detailed reporting for bug fixes and product improvements."
However, as noted by Ghacks, this broadly covers data collection changes which users were not best pleased about.
The monitoring elements of the software, called Active Monitoring and heartbeat, send user data to CCleaner servers such as anonymous usage analytics, as well as continuously scanning of systems in order to ping users when junk files are found.

Attempting to close the program has also been made more difficult. Clicking the X-icon only minimizes CCleaner, and in order to terminate the software, it has to be force-closed.
The combination of a lack of control over monitoring and a lack of options for shutting the program down has left a sour taste in the mouth of users, of which have complained loudly to the company.
