I also disabled that stuff in Autoruns and turned off all monitoring options. I have no problems and CCleaner only starts when I run it manually.
Tried all that but CC just adds a new entry on next start.

Only option I have found is to use the portable version.

go back to 5.44. 5.45 is pulled, no longer viable. Uninstall it and get 5.44.

Good advice TC although I enjoyed playing around with version 5.45. Yes if the monitoring was just disabled in Autoruns it would create a new entry on startup. However if monitoring and update were deleted then they didn't come back after a restart.
Being a suspicious person I wonder if the crapware will be better hidden in future releases I can't really believe that Avast/Piriform will stop this as they must have a good reason for doing it in the first place, like money.

For every bit of information collected, there's a market out there with someone willing to pay for it.

As a Avast Free User for last oh 14 years, and Ccleaner, this fiasco leaves a bad taste in my mouth, whats to stop them to try something else at some point, recently did a clean install on Laptop Machine, for now left Defender activated, still have to get Malwarebytes free installed which i'll do tomorrow, if it runs well and no problems come up.

I may go ahead and when 1809 comes out convert the Desktops full time to Defender/Malwarebytes Free (can't afford Pro unforuately) but I might be fine with Malwarebytes Free

    Ccleaner uninstalled from all systems

Then MS must be making a fortune out of their collected user information from Defender, Edge, IE and all the useless apps that call home. It's what MS doesn't tell us that is scary. If you use the internet you can run but you can't hide. Ghacks started the ball rolling with CC and people follow like lemmings. Just my opinion.

Bottom line with all the recent hype about CCleaner in my opinion is that MSFT just doesn't like any cleaners or apps monitoring their service. There was a time (not to long ago) when MSFT didn't give a hoot what cleaners or AV software users chose to run. Now they are into the AV business, they care? Really!
I find it hilarious that some, not all, users put more trust Cortana than CCleaner. Maybe MS are afraid CCleaner will root out something they were hiding from users. Enough said!

It is users that are having the problem and not Microsoft.

I did that successfully and I also searched the Registry for "CCleaner Monitoring" and deleted all instances of it (there were only about 3)

I no longer have the monitoring on after a reboot, but I CAN enable it and disable it as I wish. Piriform say there will be a new version in "a few weeks"...we shall see!
