Has anyone else noticed that the power settings don't work properly? I have my desktop set to turn off the display after 10 minutes and the computer should go to sleep after 30 minutes. Right now the computer goes to sleep after 10 minutes. Also for some reason the OS seems to think this desktop is a laptop with a battery.
Yep, same here on an HP Compaq 8000 Elite Convertible Minitower PC

I am not getting this update!

And am I the only one who has to update CPU microcode manually?

Still haven't received it even though WU checks every evening and it states the system is up to date. The Task Scheduler is running the SIH client (server-initiated healing) as scheduled. Have you tried manually checking for updates in the WU section of Settings?

Have you @Shiekh or @alkaufmann set your power settings back to how you want them and then tested to see if they remain set correctly after a reboot?

I ask because I wonder if this CU is resetting them to some weird default, known only to MS. If you can reset them as you want them, it's very annoying and wrong, but if they always revert to these new values, it's a serious bug!

I would test it myself but so far the only PC I've installed this CU on is behaving itself and now I'm holding fire for a while before i do the others.

I had already done that a couple of times but I just tested it again and it worked fine. I tested it again with the desktop extended to second monitor and it worked fine too. I did not change anything and all I can think of is that we had a thunderstorm here last night and a power outage, maybe a cold reboot fixed something.

My system was sleeping when we had the power outage and when I booted it up, Windows gave me a blue screen with no code but it did a lot of stuff and then froze and I hit the reset button. Everything seems okay now.

Appeared right away in two computers and for some reason it took about twenty minutes for the third to see it. Updated all three without incident.

Yes, that was a bug in the early public builds of 1803, a remanent of Insider builds that should have been removed (but wasn't). For those of us who installed 17134.1 it is no longer an issue because this was fixed by the cumulative update to build 17134.112. If you use the MCT it will now download the ISO for build 17134.112, so you can use that for clean installs.

Thanks for replying Bree! Will give it a try sooner or later and will be posting the results.

    Take care,
