[UPDATED 7/16] After installing this update, some devices running network monitoring workloads may receive the 0xD1 Stop error because of a race condition This issue is resolved in KB4345420.
[UPDATED 7/16] Restarting the SQL Server service may fail occasionally with the error, “Tcp port is already in use”. This issue is resolved in KB4345420.

[ADDED 7/20] After you install any of the July 2018 .NET Framework Security Updates, a COM component fails to load because of “access denied,” “class not registered,” or “internal failure occurred for unknown reasons” errors. The most common failure signature is the following:

    Exception type: System.UnauthorizedAccessException

Message: Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED))

    (KB4338825)

This update stops windows media player in the folder program files (x86) from running. It will keep giving a message 'windows media player is not installed properly' Do you want to install then gives a link to a place where you can not download media player. I have had to un-install the windows update to get the windows media player to work again. I then had to disable windows updates (Do not want to do that but no option) as it keeps installing the same update and the problem starts all over again.

    RE: (KB4338825)

    Thanks for the welcome!

I tried the link you gave and downloaded the update. Unfortunately it did not resolve the problem. Then within hours windows updated my computer to the 1803 update. Also that did not resolve the problem. So I looked around the web and a few other people were having the same problem and one person mentioned that an add-on for the windows media player seems to be causing the problem. I checked my computer and found that I had the WMP media tag plus2 installed so I uninstalled that program and now the windows media player is working again.

So I take it that from the windows updates (KB4338825) upwards seem to clash with this particular window media player add-on. I now find that WMP does not play videos since I uninstalled this add-on but that is fine by me as I can use the VLC player.

Sorry for the long winded reply but thought if I let you know that maybe that could help someone else if you hear of anyone else suffering from a similar problem.

Many thanks for reading my reply.
