What has png and jpg files got to do with DTS-X not working? am i missing something
If you read VokWatts initial post above you will see he was presenting 2 topics; enabling DTS:X being the 1st topic (a question), with image encoding being the 2nd topic (a so-called issue). -Larry

It is an issue when a graphic program supports only one picture format.

Yes, I think you are. If you'll note, when @VokWatts quoted your post, he also quoted a post by @Kari, which had nothing to do with your post. From there, it looks like DTS was "abandoned" and graphics was escalated.

You might want to start a DTS thread in the Windows Insider forum; you'd probably be more apt to get answers there? There's also a Graphics Card forum, but I'm not sure if that would be where you should post.

Anyone else got any ideas of where to post on DTS?

I fixed it by pointing DISM at install.wim as source, ofcourse it will show errors but .NET required apps runs fine after.
OK I'll try the DISM method again. I guess I have to give up on Microsoft's solving this issue. Most likely they just want .NET Framework 3.5 to go away.

I'd be perfectly happy with the snipping tool only supporting Bitmaps. As long as it captures something. Well for those freehand cutouts BMP would not work, but PNG works just fine since it adds transparency outside of the selected non-squared area.
