    Thanks for the suggestion.
My copy is way out of date, they're on v9 now, and have offered me an upgrade, but I have no wish to pay for the upgrade.
I think I can get by without WP.
    - I meant updates to the version you are trying to install
    - I have CorelDrawX7, and I have occasionally had some problems re-installing it after an Insider OS update
    - after convincing Corel that I am the original licence holder, they allowed me to install it from scratch again..

    - CorelDrawX7 had been updated since I first installed it, and I got the latest changes from the Corel site..

I got good customer support from Corel and they were willing to help me get it re-installed - you could try asking them for assistance..

The Home & Student versions come without support.

I'm sure that Corel will do their best to assist, no reasonable company wants to lose a potential customer..

It's not a question about a specific format being accepted. PNG image files are much bigger than for instance JPG files. If you think sites like our Ten Forums, and especially if you want to do your part in helping the site work and function better, you use format that does not require extra rendering power, storage space and slow down showing the page.
While I fully agree, at this point it's a Site's Own Fault along with Microsoft's PNG Encoder, all CMS Systems have Solution's for Exactly This.
Proof Below (Same Image, Half The JPEG Size, no Cheats like Decreasing Resolution or Removing Detail from you're Original PNG)

    Here's a simple example.

Below is Kari's screenshot at 4K resolution, first up is Kari's Original JPG image, then the Re-Encoded with a Decent PNG Encoder (From the Original 1.18MB PNG, over 75% File Size Reduction!)
The PNG image is HALF the size of the JPG image, while maintaining 100% Pixel Perfect Lossless Compression.

Kari's JPG: (Original PNG was 1.18MB)

It's 100% about how the Image Is Saved by the PNG Encoder, in this Case Microsoft have Failed to do any Optimisation on the PNG Encoder side.
Many site's now utilise 3rd Party Encoder's to Decrease Upload PNG File Sizes and Addon's exist for Every Major CMS to do Exactly This. Even JPEG's can be decreased without any visual difference by drastic sizes by new Smart Libraries! (Some are form's of AI)

Sorry Kari, please know this is not aimed at you but Microsoft!
We all need to be complaining to Microsoft via Feedback Hub to Optimise their Encoder (At very least to set Compression Level to 9, Remove Alpha Channel if Not Used, and implement many of the addition's Open Source Encoder Libraries now have including one's in Ubuntu)

Perhaps we will get 10.0.17709.1000 (rs_prerelease.180629-1430) tomorrow. But when is Microsoft going to either fix the problem with installing Net Framework 3.5. Somebody on the Feedback Hub even said if could not longer even be installed using DISM> I actually find this is disgraceful. My trusty standalone installer doesn't work on the current build.

I fixed it by pointing DISM at install.wim as source, ofcourse it will show errors but .NET required apps runs fine after.

LOL, isn't it a bit drastic to say MS has failed? None of the Windows built in apps are anywhere near a CMS system. They only provide basic functionality, which is good enough. If MS would stop to optimize and tweak every single bit of their OS and support apps, we'd never see any evolving progress. Takes too long and cost too much money to tweak every single bit.

If you need some advanced encoding and image optimization, then the Adobe Suite and similar are designed for just that. You can decrease any image drastically in size just by decreasing bit depth and rearranging the palette a bit to match the actual colors in an image. What the user sees and experience can be exactly the same as the original file, but the optimized file size is just a fraction of the original. This applies to any compressed image format. You can even optimize a really smudgy looking original image to look stunning and decrease it's size drastically after some manipulation.

Not really a big deal if MS built in apps produce a bit larger files than they could be, as long as the quality is great. Same goes for their MP4 video encoder. The file size is HUGE, and no where near optimized for size, but it performs well on real time capturing an app UI or the desktop.
