The update took me by surprise today after Wednesday's postponing. The Edge is almost working ok except for one small niggle which I haven't fathomed out yet.
The list of stored favourites is working ok except that the mouse wheel scrolls horizontally instead of vertically. I may have the width wrong, there is nothing helpful in the mouse settings that I can see.
There doesn't seem to be any drag options to increase the width of the favourites when they are displayed.
Yes I have the same wheel horizontal scrolling problem. This is a new problem with Edge in build 17704. Normal vertical scrolling works if I have my mouse positioned just to the left of the favorites list.

I also have problems with folders that I have listed in the favorites bar. They don't expand from the favorites bar once I have used the hub.

Facebook glitch mentioned in my previous post has been fixed. Looks like it was Plusnet (my ISP) as others had the same issue.

Damn, still cant install from build 17666, downloads, installs, restarts and then fails around 18% and reverts on me.
Perhaps it is because it is build 666 ... :)
Yes mate, I had the same issue with 17672 on a back-up SSD I use, I forgot to update (live) and every build I tried since with a .iso I got this initialization fail, even using 17686, using 17704 live download and .iso, the same fail.
So out of frustration and wasting so much time I ended up cloning with another SSD with working 17704...

Moral of my story is DO NOT skip too many Preview Builds as the 'install warnings' related to Build Numbers is incorrect.
    I got 7 PCs in family running 17704/ 64bit.

Plus I noticed (even with previous build) my START MENU, I use Classic Shell only, but now only works once after boot-up then crashes, so I am forced to use the standard W8-10 Start Menu 'tile' BS which I HATE!

Everything else with W10 and all the CrApp APPS I can handle, but the Start Menu is BACKWARD for me....where is a or the search bar for commands and other functions with the Start Menu tile thing.

I hope when they sort the Start Menu crash/load/whatever issue that I can still use my Classic Shell menu UI.

Anyone know of another good working Start Menu prog that works with these preview builds?

My system has a problem with Windows Explorer (explorer.exe) in this build. Explorer hangs/crashes intermittently. It sometimes recovers on its own, but other times I have had to bring up Task Manager (by Ctrl, Alt, Del) and restart explorer.exe.
    Anyone else seeing this?

Has anyone else found that the shortcut key Ctrl X (or Cut from the context menu) is not working in File Explorer?

Welcome, bncz135, I haven't figured out the horizontal scrolling yet, it looks like top people have not noticed yet, they will certainly have a fix.
There is the usual control directly to the right of the favourites, but I prefer the mouse wheel if possible. I must switch on my standard W10 pc to see what the difference is.
Update, my standard pc has both the left click and the mouse wheel options working.

There is a feedback item "My Favorites in Edge scroll right to left instead of up and down"
addressing this issue with over 30 upvotes. Microsoft has commented that they are looking into it :)

No like or dislike, it's just that many sites do not accept the format or files are too large.
All sites I use do accept it as an acceptable image format.

Completed the update to 17704 last night with no issues. ISO was created. Total time about 1 hour including the ISO.

It's not a question about a specific format being accepted. PNG image files are much bigger than for instance JPG files. If you think sites like our Ten Forums, and especially if you want to do your part in helping the site work and function better, you use format that does not require extra rendering power, storage space and slow down showing the page.

    Here's a simple example.

Below the same screenshot from a 4K display, first as PNG image, then as a JPG image. The PNG image is double the size of the JPG image, yet when you are browsing this thread you can see no difference:

You could say that using PNG file format is selfish; you want to use a format you find superior, although the fact is that not you nor anyone else can see any difference in screenshots you post.
